Back in the College darkroom I watched in wonder as a black and white image of a horse chestnut bud appeared on the sheet of photographic paper. This sparked my interest and eventually I built my own simple darkroom to process photos of the kids and Northumberland Youth Drama productions.
Now I am a grandfather but my grandchildren live on the other side of the world in San Francisco and Sydney and the Boeing 747 has become my means of travel for 4 months of the year so the boat is on the market and I turned back to photography to fill the void left by sailing.
Like watching the image of the horse chestnut bud, the digital images on the screen and my ability to manipulate them has fired my enthusiasm. Still in my early days I nevertheless have set family photos to music on CD slideshows, produced 2 cookery books complete with photographs, this is my second website and my printed photographs are pretty good.
Help pages are a mystery to me. I make progress by finding someone who knows what they are talking about and then listening. Liz was an English teacher and does my proof reading but makes me feel like a Set 6 pupil though admits that I’m making progress.
